[Guest Post] Made in Brooklyn

Whenever we get a chance to escape our cities, you may find us in brilliant Brooklyn. Due to our numerous jaunts to this borough, we have amassed a list of favourable local haunts, hand-made, and delicately crafted products that we highly recommend. Here is a snippet of our favourite made-in-brooklyn brands.

1. KIKA NY, The Brooklyn Navy Yard
Having collaborated with fellow local brands, The Brooklyn Circus and Quality Mending Co., Kika NY is our little secret. This great leather goods company produces classic sacs du jour. Their oeuvres combine the aesthetics of cut, shape and material to form an elegant piece that only gets better with age.

2. HORSE CYCLES, Williamsburg
Okay, so we’ve never bought a bike in Brooklyn. But if we were going to, Horse Cycles would be the perfect match due to their stellar craftsmanship and hand-made quality. So whether you are a serious cyclist, avid biker or just aiming for a few laps around the park, this company builds each custom bicycle with love and care. Honestly, the bikes are so beautiful that it inspires any would-be biker. (Image featuring the Signe bike.)

3. LOREN, Greenpoint
Although we have a weakness for Madewell Jeans, we both have to confess our adoration for Loren denim. Dubbed as, “an intimate clothing boutique” it specializes in fabricating bespoke, hand-made jeans guaranteed to fit you like a glove. Yes, they are definitely a splurge but while some may prefer expensive jewellery we are partial to this little piece of understated chic.
