Introduce yourself
My name is Madeka Panchoo and I set up afroboudoir.com – a fashion and beauty website for women of colour – to try and improve the limited provision of the brown-skinned perspective on fashion and beauty in the UK.
I love fashion but was tired of reading mainstream magazines that had one item at best that was relevant to me and my fashion/beauty needs. Initially I considered contacting these magazines and offering my services on how to be more inclusive but thought, in this digital age, why not do it myself?
I’m not trying to reinvent the wheel, I just want people of my age and colour to know that we are very much alive and represented in the fashion industry, it simply isn’t being publicised. www.afroboudoir.com will put that to rights.
