[Event] Africa Open & Connected: Social Media Week Lagos is coming to London!

During my break from the bloggersphere I had the opportunity to be part of Social Media Week Lagos – the first of its kind to take place in Africa. Working as a content producer I was responsible for writing content as well as live tweeting the weeks events. I was also speaking on a panel with good friend and T-Shirt designer Kwabena Boateng aka Mr Kayobi. Lagos was a truly memorable experience and it was very inspiring to be around young and innovative people who were using the Internet to tell their stories (check out my article for Afro Noire magazine about my experience).

For one day (which happens to be the day after our Power of the Digital Diaspora event…pow, lol) Social Media Week Lagos will put on a series of panels ‘exploring how Africans across London and the world are incorporating social media in their social, political, economic and creative lives’

The days events will end with a concert hosted by BEAT 99FM, Nigeria’s premiere radio station. If you were unable to attend the event in Lagos this will be the perfect taster for all things Las Gidi!
