11 Films, 7 Nights, 4 US Premieres, 3 Cinemas, #1caribBEING
With a brand new website that launched just last week, our friends over at CaribBEING have been busy putting together what looks like a stellar line up for the 3rd Annual Flatbush Film Festival. Focusing on Classic and Contemporary Caribbean films from Trinidad, Jamaica, Haiti, Cuba, Guadeloupe, Mauritania & UK – the three week long festival opens with Horace Ove’s ‘Pressure’. Set in the late 70s the first British feature by a black filmmaker, Pressure is the classic, passionate story of a young man’s political awakening and his struggle for a sense of being and place.
The screenings will take place at the TriBeCa cinema, the Maysles and the Brookyln Heights cinema. Check the CaribBEING website or their Eventbrite page for more information on the lineup of films and ticket information.
