As if I needed a new website to spend copious amounts of time on, Bandcamp is the new place for me to feel my aural addiction. The following album reminds me somewhat of the BLACKSummersnight collabo by Melo X and Spec Boogie which has more of an dance/electro feel to it. Both offerings give a new take on the distinct sound that Maxwell has become known for.
KuroiOto originally crafted M.A.X.Wellness as a surprise birthday gift, but he decided to unleash the project to the world to show his love. For his third instrumental project , the Detroit-bred producer cleverly flips eight samples, primarily by R&B powerhouse Maxwell, to craft just as many silky, emotive soundbeds to represent the joy a certain loved one gives his life.
