introduce yourself

I’m a visual artist and photographer of French-Senegalese heritage. I use photography as a tool to express a different point of view about the world. It allows me to develop images that transcend stereotypes in a world that consistently perpetuates a singular attitude as to what is deemed beautiful.

I use documentary, fashion and self-portrait photography through my journey of self-identification while discovering the amazing diversity of the world, as well as collage, and installations, which are also a part of my creative process.

In 2008, renowned photographer Peter Beard invited me to assist him in Botswana and collaborate on a photography art project for the Pirelli Calendar 2009. The trip inspired me to shoot “The RENAISSANCE,” a series of work that portrays modern-day African protagonists as heroes of ancient tales where the beauty and violence of reality collide.

fav lyric from a song

You are the sunshine of my life

That’s why I’ll always be around,

You are the apple of my eye,

Forever you’ll be in my heart.
