An interactive map created by Fresh Milk, a non-profit creative arts hub based in Barbados locates 79 arts spaces dotted around the Caribbean.
This map addresses the lack of available information about Caribbean arts at the formal, informal and educational levels.The region is mapped to show all arts entities, listed with links to their websites and maintained to keep all information current.This map will not only be a pivotal information hub and educational tool, but a place to form new bonds and to make connections among practitioners in the Caribbean and worldwide.
As the digital world continues to expand in being a place for Artists from the Caribbean to flourish I wonder if this will have an impact on the emergence of new spaces in the Caribbean or spur more established creative institutions to build campuses there.
