Get Involved: ‘A connected Africa is the Future’ – Social Media Week Lagos returns for another year!

Continuing on from the success of their inaugural event earlier this year, Social Media Week Lagos will return in 2014 (February 17-21) under the theme ‘A Connected Africa is the Future’.

As more and more organisations look to Africa for what’s next in technology and innovation – Social Media Week Lagos is the perfect platform to gather brilliant minds together to engage, discover and create new ideas.

Having had the opportunity to come on board as a content producer and travelling to the continent for the first time, I felt incredibly inspired by my surroundings and the stories of those I heard from people utilising Social Media to create their own narratives.

As well as event submissions, SMW Lagos has launched 55 Forward – an initiative looking to engage with the 55 African nations in business, tech, and media leaders. There’s also competition to design the 2014 SMW Lagos T-Shirt!

Submitting an event is easy and something I’d encourage you to do! Even if you’re unable to attend next year events can be curated via Google Hangout (something which a number of people did last year)….so what are you waiting for?!
