Introduce yourself

My  name is Amaka Onyioha from Abia state, Nigeria in West Africa. In addition, we celebrate achievers and trend setters who positively represent Africa and beyond. It is also a premier online Multicultural Fashion Editorial Magazine. It covers contemporary issues such as fashion, healthy living, entertainment, tourism, arts and culture and more.

Favorite song lyric

Wow…I can’t really say I have a favorite-there are quite a lot of favorites. I love the song “Africa” by Toto (from the early 80’s). “Prayer, Time to Say Goodbye” by Andrea Boccelli;  “Lady” by Fela; “Vulindlela & Nomakanjani” by Brenda Fassie….The list goes on!

I’m inspired by

My mother-Taught me to not be afraid, resilience, love of self and many more; my granddad- he was a kind dad who was a beacon to his people. May seem cliché, but inspired by those who rose/risen against the odds to success.

My icons past/present

Mother (Ngozi), Grand Dad (Chief KOK Onyioha), Oprah. I would not say I have a good number of icons to name. But I look at anyone who has a remarkable story to them as an icon because they give me inspiration to pursue my dream despite the hurdles.

Thenublack philosophy/mantra

…Just believe; have faith. At the end of the day, everything will fall into place.
