– Doo Wop That Thing, Lauryn Hill

 I’m inspired by

Wow, I get inspired by a lot of things. Women who are boldly doing what they want to do mostly inspire me, expressing their authentic selves whether it’s painting, music, business, or politics. Those are the kind of stories I like to hear about.

My icons past and present

Nina Simone, Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, Bob Marley, Kwame Toure, Angela Grannum, Gloria Grannum (my mom and grandmom).

The nublack philosophy/mantra according to Patricia Grannum

Right now my philosophy is centered on overcoming obstacles. Looking back, I realise that I didn’t accomplish everything I wanted to accomplish because I ran away from real challenges. Every time something got difficult, I would give up or avoid it completely. Now I see that I have to go through these hurdles to get to where I really want to be.
