Favorite song lyric
Now I could let these dream killers kill my self-esteem
Or use my arrogance as the steam to power my dreams
– Kanye West, Last Call
I’m inspired by
Life itself inspires me and that is reflected in my work. I’d say my fashion style is feminine, customized, mostly high street, with some designer and vintage pieces. A varied color palette, strong silhouettes, and plenty of body-hugging fabric – a mix of Shingai Shoniwa, Rihanna and KESH.
Icons past/present
Barack and Michelle Obama, Maya Angelou, Kanye West, Spike Lee and Naomi Campbell. For me these people represent progression, innovation, inspiration and dreams that are being fulfilled.
Thenublack philosophy/mantra
“To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.”
– Anatole France
