Ever since I picked up a pencil and put it to paper as a little kid, I’ve been hooked with the idea of having a way to release my creative energies. A platform that allows my imagination to put a spin on life as I see it, and run free. My name is Cordell Ross Jr (illadelphsouL) I’m an illustrator, fine artist, and graphic designer.
I have many things I want to do artistically in the years to come, but I’m no different then any other artist out there… just trying to grow and get better at my craft.

who and what inspires you?
I’m inspired everyday! I really feel blessed when I sit and think about it, that I’m able to truly do what I love most. My inspirations come in multiple forms. Most definitely from my peers, there are so many dope artists putting out amazing work. Illustrators, fine artists, graff writers, photographers, and fashion designers the list goes on. My friends, those closest to me, that are not afraid to tell me what I really need to hear whether I want to hear it or not. You know who you are and I love you for that. I have a great support system! Nature inspires me. It could be a picturesque setting or gritty street in the city; they both get my mind working.
People watching is one of my favorite things to do. Paying attention to the details of PEOPLE. Most of my work is inspired by this. Music is a major influence on me in general let alone with my work. One of the things that really gets me is seeing other people out there artist or not, who have never stopped in pursuit of they’re dream. Making sacrifices through the hard times and consistently grinding to get where they want to be. I really need to take a deeper look inside myself when it comes to that. The biggest barrier I have is me, learning to get out of my own way will be when I see true growth not only in my work but within my life as a whole!

My parents first and foremost! They’ve always supported me and given they’re all so I may succeed. I’ll always be grateful for that! My uncle Jimmy, that man had such an influence on me. Artist: Rembrandt, Michelangelo, Thomas Eakins, and Frank Morrison. Muhammad Ali in so many ways. I used to get a kick out of his gift of gab when I was little. As I became older, his inspiration only grew. Richard Pryor!! His ability to stand alone as an individual and just be himself really always inspired me. Wonder why so many comedians over the past 30 years have patterned their careers after that man. Mr. T lol seriously! I don’t know why but he is! Bob Marley, his words have filled my ears since I was five.. always up lifting any day.
