Thanks to Pinterest and Munaluchi magazine the idea of planning a wedding seems a lot more fun than reality shows like Bridezilla make them out to be. I’d never seen a wedding playlist before either until a few years ago when I attended the wedding of a family friend and the newlyweds handed them out as favours to the guests, it was a nice touch!
Wedding blogger Amma Adjubi-Archibald of Beyond Beyond has taken the playlist and her love for all things romance to create ‘Mixtape Love’ a series of mixtapes dedicated to some of her favourite on screen couples.
Oh, sweet childhood memories – one of our favourite shows back in the day was Desmond’s, it was all about Peckham (Pre gentrification) and the couple de jour, and who are today’s mixtape love are Desmond and Shirley. They are the ultimate power couple: business, family and all that good stuff. More than that we love the theme tune, oh the happy days of trilling this full volume at the start of each show!
With tracks from Dawn Penn, The Israelites and Desmond Dekker, this mix is something I’m sure a lot of West Indian parents and fans of Desmonds will appreciate! Who would be on your wedding playlist?
