Who and what inspires you?
Life and the beauty that God has created. Pre – colonial African art and art and architecture in general. My family, the hundreds clothing line, Johnny cupcakes, Ozwald Boateng, the galaxy riders aka ALIEN.
Icons past & present
My Grand Ma Mary Boaitey, Jesus, the Ashanti tribe and all the nameless, faceless people who go against the grain in the pursuit of their dreams.
The nublack philosophy/mantra according to Kwabena Boateng
There is a re- emergence of all things black and African. In the past three years there has been a spurt in N.W.A’s – New World African’s such as Barack Obama, K’naan, Nneka , Kheinde Wiley, Tim Cambell and numerous others. These people are the leaders of the nublack and are redefining how black people are portrayed and breaking the mould.
Anyone can be a part of this nublackness and you don’t even have to be black, just chase your dreams, seek eternity and work hard.
